How to use Projects and Xero?

custom_only.pngTracking categories come as Projects into Receipt Bank. If you use them in Xero then you can assign them in Receipt Bank too.

Xero uses tracking categories and options instead of department codes or cost centres. You can have two active tracking categories and up to 100 tracking options for each tracking category. All these appear as Projects under the Maintain lists tab in the Account settings menu.

You can have up to 2 Projects per item and assign them through the Item edit page or as a Supplier rule. One more way to manage them is per user

Tracking categories are not designed to be used for job costing. Check out Xero's connected app marketplace for a job costing solution that's right for your organisation.
